Here at The Bookfeed Blog, I use a variety of sources for reviewing books. I have my own personal collection, I borrow from family and friends, I use the local libraries, I am part of a book club, I download free books from authors newsletters, Instafreebie and Book Funnel. I also regularly request books from NetGalley.
I rarely sign up for Blog Tours and when I do it is only for authors I really love and support. I do accept requests from authors and publishers but due to the mass of books in my NetGalley right now, I can only accept one request per month. I try my hardest to get the book read and review done within 2-4 weeks after receiving the ARC. I prefer ARCS to be in mobi format for my kindle or in paperback.
All reviews are posted to Amazon Australia, Goodreads, NetGalley (if applicable) and here on the blog. From the blog it is shared to The Bookfeed Blog’s social media pages including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.
I generally read anything but favour historical fiction, regency romance, chick lit and women’s fiction. I do take photos of the book covers to accompany reviews on the blog so the covers cannot be too risqué.
My nature is to be brutally honest. I don’t beat around the bush and I don’t sugarcoat things. Please know that if I review your book, it is not an attack on you. In fact it is not an attack at all. I just am very candid about what I like and what I don’t like. I try to put it as nicely as possible but as with all text based conversations, you cannot hear my tone of voice. Every review will include a link to purchase the book, generally Amazon Australia, the blurb taken from Goodreads and if possible, a link to the authors website page. I also state where I sourced the book from. All books are rated out of 5 stars.
